    • The cozy second floor Savannah accommodations in the Palmetto Suite feature a Queen sleigh bed. The elegant cottage-style accommodations offer a lovely view of the nostalgic, becalming Greene Square and the 1790s homes that decorate charming State Street. 

    Symbolic of life in the low country, native Palmetto palm fronds (leaf strips) are the source product of artisan basket weavers who design and plait tender inside fronds into coiled Christmas tree ornaments, hats, baskets, mats, fans, and whisks.  The handmade “show baskets” of sweetgrass (sewn with longleaf pine needles and strips of palmetto leaf) command good prices throughout the low country.  Historically, palms have provide building material, medicines and food to earn the name of “princes of the plant kingdom.”
