Daily Cameo Role for Small Savannah Inn B&B: Green Palm Inn

SAVANNAH Georgia (August 24, 2013) – Green Palm Inn’s Diane McCray traveled with two Savannah friends last night to see the premier of “Savannah”. The new Indie movie is directed to Annette Haywood-Carter and stars James Caviezel, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Jamie Alexander.

After a lifetime of portraying “Mark Twain”, actor Hal Holbrook was perfectly cast in his cameo role in “Savannah”, the affable Judge Harden.

“It is a heart-warming experience to be in our picturesque southern town where this scenic, romantic drama of friendship and southern legends was filmed,” says Diane. The treasured family story takes place along the Georgia coast. It began with the stories of duck hunting along the Savannah River — Ward Allen River Hunter by John Eugene Cay (1958).

Mr. Holbrook’s role in the movie reminds us how important everyone’s role is in each of life’s adventures.

It dawned on us that our little Green Palm Inn – a top-rated small historic inn in the Savannah historic district — plays a cameo role, too … in Savannah tourism daily. Here are two examples:

  • Green Palm Inn is a supporting star in JoAnn & George’s trip to Savannah. For six years now, they visit every other year.  Green Palm Inn’s cameo role was sufficiently impressive that the couple brought their teenage granddaughters for the first time to our B&B in Savannah.  They wanted to show off Savannah and their happy find — Green Palm Inn.
  • Green Palm Inn played a cameo role for three college friends, now dental hygienists. They were in Savannah for a professional conference.  They delayed going to the conference’s early morning session so they could enjoy breakfast at the inn. Another day the friends went to their conference early, then escaped to our small inn in time to enjoy another delicious, home cooked breakfast.  The girlfriends want to come back next year.

Our historic cottage inn delivers with up-close and personal bed and breakfast lodging. Sometimes our small Savannah inn’s part is a walk on role — delivering last minute southern hospitality, southern cooking, and Savannah insider’s local tips.

Planned or last minute, Green Palm Inn’s Diane McCray puts on the producer’s assistant cap, too, to help Savannah travelers maximize a generous or constrained travel budget with. Based on each lodging guest’s interest, she recommends new and varied ideas of what to do and see.

Repeat city tourists and executive visitors get a good show every trip!

“This week a couple visiting Savannah from Germany walked up on my porch, eager for a local Savannah bed and breakfast experience, even as a last minute idea.  I was sad to tell them we had the inn in maintenance mode for a few days of painting, and that we do not host guests when we’re making updates,” says innkeeper Diane McCray.

Yes, indeed.  For its cameo role, the Green Palm Inn’s small historic Savannah B&B is always ready to “standout in its minor role.”  Come visit “The Softer Side of Savannah” ™
