SAVANNAH FOOD AND HERITAGE FESTIVALS FEATURE MORE RENOWNED INTERNATIONAL CUISINE

Saturday, February 27 (12 PM to midnight), A-Town Get Down 2016 with Robert Randolph at The Charles H. Morris Center in Savannah, GA. A-Town Get Down will be free for all ages from noon to 5pm. After 5pm $25 general ticket price and $15 with student or military ID.

March is the month of traditional Irish food and Irish celebrations in Savannah style, especially the March 17 St. Patrick’s Day Parade, where fountains and beer are green around town!

April 20-24, 2016 is the 8th Annual Tybee Island Wine Festival, hosted at the Tybee Island Light Station and other island locations. Proceeds from the food and wine event benefit the Tybee Post Theatre restoration.

May 3, 2016 (12pm-4pm) is the Food Truck Festival, serving up food, music and art in Forsyth Park.

May 7, 2016, Savannah Scottish Games is a Celtic gathering, serving up Scottish fare. The location is Historic Bynah’s Field at Bethesda Academy. Who 0doesn’t love a hearty soup, fish, game, roast meat, pudding and dessert, including scones?!

July 4th in Savannah is a happy gathering of citizens from across America, celebrating with red, white and blue, patriotic American food specialties, like the freshest of high quality burgers found at B&D Burgers in Savannah GA downtown, and Green Truck on Habersham Street.

Watch for summer 2016 dates, usually July – August time frame, for our HOPEFUL repeat of Savannah Restaurant Week. It is a 10-Day summer 2016 celebration of Savannah’s restaurant scene, splendid with culinary heritage that makes our southern USA city unique.

October (annually): City of Savannah’s Picnic in the Park, October 2, 2016, is a box dinner-meets-wine-picnic-and music event in Forsyth Park. This year’s theme is patriotic, “Under the Stars and Stripes”.

October: Savannah Greek Festival (October 6 – 8, 2016 date to be confirmed) features Greek cultur and food.

October 24 is “Food Day“. Watch for healthy food cooking class events or simply celebrate a personal healthy food day solo!

October (annually): October 30, 2016, Savannah Jewish Festival serves up “Shalom Y’all, home cooked Jewish food in Forsyth Park.

October (annually): The first weekend in October 2016 is Oktoberfest on the Savannah Riverfront, THE place for German food and beer on the Savannah River front and all around town.
