Last Friday evening Teresa, Jackie and I met at Sugar Daddy’s on Jefferson, between Broughton and State streets. I had a glass of wine, a red blend, and my two wild Savannah friends each tried a martini. Each drink, I must admit, was right on with our tastes. All were delicious with fresh flavors of cucumber, lavender, etc.
We also tried an appetizer dip of sweet potato and artichoke. That I must say was exquisite. As hard as I tried, the owner would not give up the recipe. Darn! What a great hors d’oeuvre to serve during wine and apps at any of our Inns. But the best was yet to come.
A cheese cake made by one of the owners. About 3lbs of cream cheese, wonderful vanilla and who knows what else. We were told that the initial process of whipping the cream cheese was about an 8 hour project. Possibly an exaggeration, but I could believe it. Even Teresa Harris of Harris Baking Co. said it was the best she ever had. Go try it, you won’t be dissappointed. Yeah Sugar Daddy’s!
